Apache woes
I keep struggling with load in loquo. See pic below, for 3 hours or so, people waiting at the door to get in.
Hopefully, we’ll figure out some iptables issues that are preventing us from running nfs (needed to turn db server into an image server).
I had a lot of fun yesterday coding up RSS support, it’s pretty much completed (including http caching, tricky part) Problem is that I’m affraid an aggregator will slam us and make matters worse. Every monday we seem to get a new traffic record, yesterday we got 265,000 page views, 27,500 visits (according to awstats). Sites that haven’t work so well before are starting to get more traffic, surprisingly we got 1200 visits to apartments in barcelona alone. Menos mal, it wasn’t a whole lot of fun to write all the availability code et al.

I don’t actually know how it’s done, but Slashdot has a way for preventing rss crawlers to slam us too many times during a period of time (1 hour?), when that happen’s your rss agreggator takes a warning page instead of the normal rss feed and your IP gets blacklisted.
